Information Technology

With cybersecurity at the forefront, MCSG provides vital Information Technology support including design, development, implementation, and management of computer-based information systems — software applications and computer hardware.

Contracts

United States Space Force (USSF); STARCOM Space Delta 12 (DEL 12) and 12th Delta Operations Squadron (12 DOS), Schriever SFB, Colorado

Contract: Innovation, Integration, and Information Services II (3IS II)

MCSG provides DEL 12 support on the 3IS II contract supporting 15 units and 700+ customers.  The IT section, in support of numerous and diverse classified and unclassified systems, networks, exercises and developmental missions within Building 24, provides computer systems support, network engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, Hardware Operating Systems and Peripherals (HOSP) maintenance, video teleconferencing support, communications security (COMSEC), and audio/visual services to all units. Within these functional areas support includes, but is not limited to, requirements analysis/technical solutions development, database and web support, IT Equipment Custodian (ITEC) configuration management, audio visual services, hardware and software maintenance support, Assessment and Authorization support, network security, Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) oversight, Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) monitoring, implementation, and reporting.   MCSG IT support also includes:

  • Maintaining and improving computer system security baselines to include threat updates, security configuration control, and system security review for software/system purchases, evaluation, and integration; provide support in the investigation and documentation of network and stand-alone security incidents.
  • Performing weekly reviews of the audit data of systems (servers, workstations/desktops, firewalls) for any anomalous activities and maintaining the audit data IAW DoD I 8500.01, CNSSI 1253, SP 800-53rev4, ICD 503, ICS 500-27, ICS 700-02 and DJSIG. Conducting vulnerability testing and risk analysis as part of the overall accreditation process on all networks and systems as determined by the Government IAW AFI 17-101, ICD 503 and NIST SP 800-53rev4.
  • Identifying corrective actions for hardware, software and business management procedures required to correct or minimize deficiencies, points-of-contact responsible for correcting identified problems and projected dates when identified problems will be corrected. Working with the Government, associated support contractors and identified points-of-contact to ensure proper implementation of the corrective actions.
United States Space Force (USSF)

Contract: Video Teleconferencing, Preventative Maintenance Inspection, and Audiovisual Systems Services II (VTC/PMI/AV II)

MCSG supports the mission of the Command Presentation team to provide on demand VTC/AV support across USSF location across the US. The team provides VTC/AV maintenance, installation, and integration support including equipment, parts, materials, labor, maintenance, and training needed to successfully maintain systems and equipment, replace defective components, and recommend system upgrades.  MCSG provides Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI), help desk, Asset tracking, Advanced VTC support, engineering, control system programming, and audio programing to keep up to 350 VTC/AV systems across USSF.

MCSG provides existing VTC/AV systems with a technical refresh changing out outdated and end of life equipment to bring the system back to USSF standards. Systems range from single to multiple classification systems. MCSG provides the following services; hardware support, setup of all VTC equipment (Coder/Decoder(CODECs), VTC network connections and controllers, wired/wireless interfaces, audio controllers, microphones, data interfaces, touch panel programing, control system programing, Audio DSP programing, Freeport systems and other miscellaneous VTC/AV support, interpret blue prints, schematics, technical manuals and other related resources to perform video conferencing setups, equipment repairs, calibrate equipment perform routine safety inspections. The scope of the IDIQ includes working with the Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNE), Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System (BICES), Joint WorldWide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), Air Force Special Enclave Video Enterprise Network (AFSEVEN), GWAN, Chinstrap and GOLD networks.

United States Space Force (USSF)

Contract: Plans & Programs Engineering Design Support (PEDS)

MCSG supports the United States Space Force (USSF) 50th Space Communications Squadron by providing communications systems design, architecture design, and customer support in defining requirements. MCSG determines technical solutions as well as design, develop and implement site support to include installs, testing and evaluation of new and upgraded equipment. We also ensure communications and information systems integrate with local, Air Force, and DoD architectures.

MCSG performs configuration changes, including configuration and management of IT devices within Schriever Circuit Actions’ administrative control upon approval by the Government.  The Contractor shall comply with 50 CSCS established change/configuration procedures.  The contractor shall follow and document all configuration changes as specified by DISA, Air Force and local guidance, which covers all aspects of the contracted effort. The contractor’s configuration change control documentation will include technical data, specifications, drawings, etc. in addition to the hardware/software to be installed. Additionally, MCSG provides designs that include system initialization, IT device configuration, architecture, troubleshooting, monitoring, security, network protocols, and network encryption

MCSG provides corrective recommendations to the Government of any communications transport equipment or services that are failing, has a manufacture announced end of service date, or actions otherwise requiring Government funding or action to maintain the Government required network performance level.

Department Of The Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific); Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC)

Contract: Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Solutions

MCSG provides software and system engineering, design, development, configuration, integration, testing and life-cycle support services that are needed to support the BMC Remedy Enterprise system, infrastructure, and supporting or enabling technologies, and related training, in support of the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of the Navy (DoN), and Homeland Security.

The ITSM system is built utilizing BMC Software, Inc.’s (BMC) Remedy Business and IT Service Management (ITSM), commercial off the shelf suite of applications.  ITSM is based on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) best practices for IT service management, which focuses on aligning IT services with the needs of business.

ITSM consists of BMC Remedy ITSM service desk (incident and problem management), change management (including release), asset management, service level management, service request management, knowledge management, BMC Atrium™ Discovery and Dependency Mapping, Analytics, Dashboards, Configuration Management Database, and other enabling technologies.  The existing database utilizes Microsoft SQL Server.

ITSM provides a wide range of services to meet a variety of customer business needs, from linking warfighters to source of support providers, to Navy Enterprise Data Centers enabling efficient management of assets, changes, resources and services to ensure the best possible levels of service quality and availability are maintained.  ITSM is an agency-level enterprise toolset customers use to efficiently manage their business IT services across their entire lifecycle – from cradle to grave.

MCSG:

  • Provides thorough documentation of all code and other software products.
  • Complies with coding and naming conventions per BMC Remedy Customization Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Develops software in accordance with industry software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Provides code versioning and management, code reviews, etc.
  • Provides application testing and promotes code between development, quality assurance (QA), production, and continuity of operations (COOP) environments.
  • Develops software and administers servers in accordance with SSC Pacific, Navy, and DoD security policies.
  • Restricts system access to BMC-certified engineers, developers, and administrators, and limit to their proven area of expertise.
  • Develops procedures and documentation to support the planning, managing, controlling and reporting of project schedules, tasks, resources, risks and outputs.
  • Provides status reports and project plans.
